Miami And Helicopters Are The Perfect Match
Visiting Miami and not seeing it from above is a big
mistake, I believe. Living in Miami and not seeing it from above is a
sin, no lessJ.
Over the years I took numerous helicopter rides in Miami and Fort
Lauderdale and enjoyed them all, but now I’d like to brag about
one particular tour that wasn’t simply nice. It was Awesome!
Flying in a big 3-passenger helicopter is a nice experience
with beautiful views. Flying in a tiny 1-passenger helicopter is a thrill and
O-Ma-Goodness!
Why:
- R22 is so tiny, it gets your adrenaline going when you just stand next to it.
- They leave the doors open and you can breathe! (instead of feeling suffocated and sick, what is often the unpleasant case with helicopters passengers) You can also stick your leg/arm/head out (you are not exactly allowed to do so, but hey, I took a few awesome quick shots with my gopro this wayJ)
- At one point the pilot asks you if you’d like to take the stick and give it a shot operating a helicopter. Don’t hesitate a second. Take the stick!!
- You get much much better views when you are sitting next to a pilot versus in the back cabin.
- And finally, the feeling you get when flying a tiny 800 lb R22, which gets easily dragged by any blow of wind, flittering like a butterfly – that feeling is astonishing. When you try, you’ll know what I mean.
So here’s my sincere recommendation based on personal experience
and preference. Have fun! :-)
