Islamorada Full Moon Party at Florida Keys - an absolute gem!
Last Friday there was our friend’s birthday and we decided
to experiment and do something different than a usual home party or a restaurant/lounge
routine. Getting away for one day to Key Largo (an hour and a half drive from
Miami) sounded awesome. We anticipated we would have a great time, but little did
we know how much fun our mini trip was going to be!
The preparation was very simple – booking hotel rooms for
the whole group and choosing a place for a birthday celebration. The hotel we chose, Creekside Inn, was nice
and cozy, but probably a bit overpriced for that kind of accommodations. Hotels
in Key Largo and Islamorada are generally very pricey, so booking in advance is
a wise thing to do. Anyways, as everybody arrived at the hotel and started getting
ready for the celebration, the mood was already adventurous and fun. I loved
the atmosphere before the party of everybody being together, girls sharing
makeup and feeling excited, while guys (who generally get ready in less than 5
minutes) drinking beer on the deck and joking around.
Our destination for the celebration was (and here we discovered
a true gem!) Full Moon Party at Morada Bay. The place encompasses a restaurant,
a beach café, several bars and lounge areas. It is located right on the bay, overlooking
the water and offering the pleasure of walking barefoot on the white sand. They
host many different events, but I am going to go head over hills about their
Full Moon Beach Parties.
They certainly do know how to party at Morada Bay! There are
all kinds of entertainment for both adults and kids you could only imagine: musicians
playing flamenco and jazz, reggae band playing in the center of the beach, Bahamian
parade, stilt walkers, fire dancers, facepainters, balloon artists, DJs in the lounges…you
name it! The food prepared on the grill right on the beach is delicious, while drinks
are huge, beautifully garnished and tropicalicious! Oh, and don’t forget the amaaazing fireworks
on top of everything else! (Just noticed all the exclamation points I used… won’t
delete them - this place is totally worth every single one of them)
And one more thing – the atmosphere…
The atmosphere was the glue which pulled everything together and made it magical. You could
participate in every bit of fun out there, but you could as well sit on a deck
chair, with your shoes off and your feet enjoying the sand, sipping strawberry
mojito, observing what was going on around and just absorbing the happiness in
the air… Everybody looked happy there, everybody smiled, everybody was feeling young at
heart.
Oh well, we should definitely do it one more time!
